If you’re like me, your draft is approaching. Maybe you have two or three coming up. I am getting rapidly close to double digits, but that’s neither here nor there. The important part is that it’s about time for that pinnacle of fantasy football bliss when all of your preparation pays off and you take the first step toward the trophy.
You might be celebrating your holiday with some hot wings, beer, and a man cave. Others may be getting out on the town to draft at the local pub or watering hole. A word of advice: whatever you do, wherever you go, just know that computers don’t like beer. I speak from personal draft day experience.
But enough about my draft day party fouls. Let’s talk rankings. A good rankings sheet is a must for draft day. I decided to put together some rankings by position for this post. I also tried to make it as balanced between multiple league formats as I could.
I thought about writing a little bit about why one player is ranked ahead of another, but it would take forever and you wouldn’t want to read it anyway. Instead, I am just going to put my rankings out there, let you shred them up, and we’ll debate in the comments section.
So take a look. Feel free to use these as a reference, as a draft tool, as a gum wrapper. I don’t care. If you completely disagree with something, leave a comment and try to convince me of my wrong. Maybe I’ll even heed your advice.
Please note that these rankings are up to date as of this writing, but a lot can change over the next few weeks. Watch the ticker, the Internet, twitter, whatever you use to get your football info. It is almost a guarantee that a handful of the following players will be injured, traded, or arrested in coming weeks, which will obviously affect draft stock. Stay connected and you’ll be ready.
Best of luck on Draft Day!
Quarterback
Tight Ends
Defense and Kickers
I’m not that concerned with either of these positions. Do what feels right.

Why so low on McCoy? He was that number 2 RB last season.
I like McCoy a lot. Still a 1st rounder. PPR I might move him above Mendenhall, but I’m still pretty high on Mendenhall even in a PPR. Not so much a reflection of McCoy here.
So whats the deal with Lloyd? Are there many examples of “one season wonders?”
I kinda feel like the top 7 RBs are pretty interchangeable as far as rankings go.
